Rahana

Rahana is 100% Grillo.

Grillo is yet another undervalued grape of Sicily: created by crossing Catarratto Bianco and Zibibbo, it was originally used to produce Marsala, a typical fortified wine. For this reason, it was believed to be suitable for wines with a high alcohol content only. However, over time, it has been rediscovered as a fine and elegant wine when produced with a different style.

Today is globally recognised as a Sicilian variety with great high-quality potential, thriving in the warm Mediterranean climate and resistant to drought.

In the case of Rahana, the vineyard is located at 15m above sea level, hence the mineral scent and taste. The main features emerging from tasting Rahana Grillo are citrus fruit, orange blossom and tropical fruit.

It is best paired with fish-based meals, crustaceans, fresh cheese.
